Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Thursday) – Sister Butler came and after a few words of prayer we started our teaching. Visited Sister Bailey, Sister Smith, then Sister Brown, Called at the Alberta Apartments, but found no one home. In Apartment 5 in the next home we found the Sister sick, just a bad cold, but she felt she should remain in bed to break it up. We called at Edna Nelson’s (Edna Viola Nelson). She was away to school, but we visited with Sister Nelson (Grace Viola Harper). Our last call for the morning was at Sister Spitzbardt’s. She was in the midst of cleaning and painting.

Evening – Sister Butler and I continued our visiting. 1st – McDermott’s, the new bride and groom, then Sister Ereksen, Julia Ferris, then down to the Alberta Apartments #1 – not there; #5 – welcomed us, as usual; we then visited #6 – found Sister Frazier had left and Sister Jeannette Dimmick was living there all alone. She is working, at first she acted as if she just as leaf (?) us not come in, but after we had been there for a few minutes, she seemed to enjoy our visit and welcomed us and invited us to come again.

We called at apt. 1 in the next house, but the lady had company, so we didn’t go in, but we went upstairs and visited with the Hollingshead’s, they acted pleased to see us and as were getting ready to leave, the husband asked Sister Butler if she was related to a school teacher he had who taught in Wyoming and was told it was her daughter. The Lee’s were not at home.
