Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Friday) – Although the nights are cold, it is a very lovely day today. My Husband (Alfred Oscar Lunt) has been digging the garden east of the house, ready for tulips, hope it isn’t too late.

This evening I went to the Library, found the marriage record of Moses Ventrus. It gave his wife’s name as Grace (Grace Graves)*, but did not give her maiden name. Later, I assisted a Sister Mills, I believe. Her people were from South Wales. She had very little information. Her parents were born in Wales, Glamorganshire, one at Pontypridd, the other at Mountain Ash, both very near each other. We studied Maps & Gazetteers, she drew a map of the county with a few towns listed, then we went to the card catalogue and she copied some call numbers for future use. It was time to leave by then. I walked home alone.
