Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Saturday) – I didn’t accomplish much today as I decided to work on back diary’s and put them in shape. Those sheets I had already typed and typed others. I’m trying to make an abridgement of them, taking out most of the useless words and destroying the old notebooks. Got quite a kick out of some of the ways I wrote in the different years of my life, but I don’t want other to have the chance of laughing at me, for we used to always say “Papa and Mama” and we always called Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) “Essie” and not that we are grown up and say things in different ways, the old ways sound unfamiliar.
