Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Tuesday) – Left home about 8:15. Met Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and went to the Temple, Maurine Snell (Jane Maurine Snell) was married to Clyde A. Swenson (Clyde Albert Swenson). It was a lovely session. Joseph F. Smith (Joseph Fielding Smith) performed the ceremony. They were the first couple called up and we who accompanied them went up at the same time, Brother Smith made the ceremony sound so plain and simple. It seems to me that it would make a big impression on them. There was a lovely spirit present. It was 3:15 before I left the Temple. I then went down to Relief Society where I took out an insurance for hospitalization for Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and me.
