Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1946 (Wednesday) – I went up to the Library, the wind was blowing terrifically, paper stated 50 miles per hour. I worked there for three hours or more and during that time it snowed so hard the ground had several inches on it. I had my umbrella, but not my galoshes, so I got my feet a little wet. I immediately heated some water, took a mustard bath and drank some cayenne pepper tea, to prevent getting a cold.
