1946 (Written on this day) – **It has been two weeks since I wrote last and it is hard to remember details. Have been doing a lot of shopping for Christmas. Sent packages to Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.), Georgetta (Georgetta Marie Lunt), Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) and Lillian (Lillian Lunt). Gave Agnes (Agnes Coalter Golightly) some money to buy for her girls (Patricia Jean, Mary Elizabeth and Judith Ann Lunt) as she knows better what they would like. I am sending a year’s subscription of the Children’s Friend to Robert (Robert Gordon Lunt) and Chip (Gordon Lewis Gabbitas) and the Relief Society Magazine to Della (Della Lunt).
Have been to the Genealogical Library several times. On the 18th, I checked all afternoon with records from Wallingford, Conn. on the film, but could not finish it. I then went again on the 19th. This afternoon they closed the Library shortly after three p.m. and I still did not finish the record. The Library is closed until the 2nd of January 1947.
Bert’s (Charles Gilbert Lunt) family was down on the 14th. They took the children up to see Santa Claus come in a plane to Z.C.M.I and they went on the new escalator in the store.
Judy came home and stayed with me while the rest went shopping. I cooked some cookies, which they all enjoyed.
Evening – Edna (Edna Viola Nelson) came in and helped us dress our Christmas tree.
On Friday 13th, Sister Allred and I visited Sister McIlley (pronounced McNelly) at 255 North West Temple. They are a young couple. She seemed very interested. We left charts and group sheets, which she will fill out, invited her to the genealogical class in Sunday School.
At 229A North West Temple, a man greeted us at the door, not interested, but his mother was not at home, so we must call again.
At 251 North West Temple, mostly all foreigners (Spanish, non-members). We inquired of a man who was leaving the house, he gave us the information, we did not call there.
229 ½ North West Temple: Sister Clara Carlson, her brother has a large record from either Denmark or Sweden. She will prepare some charts and family group sheets for us and in time will put a copy of all her work in the Archive.
229 North West Temple: Perry Bradley and wife, she is a daughter of Sister Carlson. We talked with the daughter in Sister Carlsen’s.
233 North West Temple: Sister Bagley works and was away. Her daughter, or in-law, busy with her new baby, wanted us to call again, as she would like to talk with us.
231 North West Temple: No one at home.
225 North West Temple Apt. 7: Jennie Quate, was very interested, will prepare some records for us.
