1946 (Tuesday) – I kept watching for Della (Della Lunt) to come in to do some shopping until I got quite nervous and phoned and found they had been in the day before while I was at the funeral. I made some puddings and apple sauce. Earl (Earl Sperry Lunt) went down to Pleasant Grove to spend Christmas with the Nelson’s (Grace Viola Harper and Edna Viola Nelson). Before Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) left for work, we opened our presents. He received a beautiful razor set (Gillette), a large bath towel, some slippers, a shirt, at least three pairs of socks, box of chocolates and between us, some home made cookies, serving trays with glass dishes for serving and an electric bakerette. I received five pairs of hose, four of them nylons and one silk, two hankies, an apron, pair of lovely pillow slips, two lovely hot pads, a towel and wash rag and a large bath towel, a lovely black satin slip, picture of Jean Lunt (Patricia Jean Lunt) and one of David (David Warren Astle) and Kay (Kathleen Astle) Astle, some stationary, a little gadget which indicates how the weather is and a glass with a boy and a dog, which, if you move, it makes snow fly.
I think that is about all we. We also received a lovely lot of cards.
