1946 (Wednesday) – Lillian Carter (Lillian May Sperry), gave Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I a large turkey, weighing at least 17 lbs. Esther cooked it and we went down and got our half in time for dinner. Dad (Alfred Oscar Lunt) took the car down. Everything tasted so good. Esther roasted two potatoes, gave us the gravy and some cranberry jelly besides a cute little fruit cake. They always give us the lion’s share of the bird.
It was a lovely day and quite warm. I wrote a letter to Verda Haws.
