1947 (Tuesday) – I attended the funeral of Brother Callis (Apostle) (Charles Albert Callis). He died suddenly while on a trip to Florida. Apostle Lee (Harold Bingham Lee) accompanied him there and accompanied his body home. Brother Callis’ wife (Grace Pack) died last fall. The services were very good. Speakers were: Apostle Lee, George F. Richards (George Franklin Richards) and President Smith (George Albert Smith). Some very beautiful floral offerings, one the shape of the state of Florida, covered with yellow flowers and in red letters the name of the state and another with the inscription “Our Mission President”.
It was about two o’clock by the time I reached Paul’s store and I felt quite tired, so did not go to Relief Meeting.
