1947 (Thursday) – About 9:30 a.m. Harrison Sperry (Harrison Spencer Sperry) came here and together we worked on genealogical problems pertaining to the Sperry families until five in the afternoon. He brought information, which I was glad to copy and he was delighted with what U was able to furnish him.
No, I know my relationship to Mrs. Ida Petersen, who is now living in California. Our common progenitor is Moses Sperry and Sarah McCleod (Sarah Olive McLeod). Joy (Joy Sperry) and her grandfather, George Sperry, were brothers. Charles (Charles Sperry) and her grandfather Moses were cousins; Father (Charles Henry Sperry) and her Mother (Minnie May Sperry) were 2nd cousins and she and I are third cousins*.
Through a copy of an article in a newspaper about the fiftieth wedding anniversary of two of Joy’s brother’s, James and Calvin. We were able to get the names of all of Joy’s brothers (James, Charles, Aaron, George, Moses and Calvin Sperry) and sisters (Arabella, Betsey, Melinda, Minerva, Anna and Sarah Ann Sperry).
