1947 (Monday) – This morning Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt) underwent a major operation. I had to go to town and do some shopping and then down to Esther’s (Emily Esther Sperry) to take some trimmings for my dress.
In the afternoon, George (George Thornton Holman) phoned to say the operation was successful and Eva was feeling pretty good except for being nauseated.
