1947 (Tuesday) – George (George Thornton Holman) and the girls (Darlene Lunt and Sharon Alice Holman) left for McGill this morning. Afternoon, I went up to the hospital to see Eva (Eva Ruth Lunt). She is looking fine.
About 11:15 a.m. Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and I went out to the Deseret Mortuary to attend the funeral of Uncle Harry Sperry (Miles Harrison Sperry). There was quite a large crowd present. There were some lovely floral pieces.
Music was furnished by the mortuary. Speakers were: Bert Paxman, President Rob Anderson of the Manti Temple, Ras Sorenson, Brother Alfred Durham conducted the services.
During the services, a recording was played of a song composed by Uncle Harry and sung by Florence (Florence and Sarah Jane Sperry). It was very beautiful. While it was being played, the birds joined in. Their little voices seemed to blend with the singers.
