1945 (Wednesday) – Lillian (Lillian May Sperry) went over to spend the day with Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), then returned and had dinner with us. Howard (William Howard Allen) and family came after her about eight o’clock.  I went to town in the afternoon to complete my Christmas shopping.

1945 (Saturday) – I remained home all day and evening. Besides my regular housework, I washed and ironed my curtains for the kitchen, bathroom and pantry. Cleaned the windows including woodwork and hung the curtains. It was one of the biggest work days I have done for a long time and I was very tired.
