Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1895 (Saturday) – Early in the morning, I walked down home and then spent the day doing the ironing. In the evening, Dwight Sparks (Charles Dwight Sparks) and I went up town to a surprise on Lillie Black (Lillie May Black). Those present were; Girls: Lil Black, Della (Adella Kendall) and Jennie Kendall (Lydia Jane Kendall), Ada Taylor (Ada Ann Taylor), Amy and Sarah Bigler, Sarah Painter; Minnie (Minnie Lamont Abbott) and Maud Abbott (Ruth Maud Abbott), Callie Carver, Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and myself; Boys: Earl Mangum, Tom Painter, Tom Norton, Roscoe Grover, Alonzo Ingram, Dwight Sparks and our brother Art (Arthur David Sperry) and someone named George. We played Jeremiah Judkins trip to the World’s Fair, spin the plate, charades, and clap in and clap out. About one o’clock, lunch was served and we did not leave until two o’clock. I slept up to Aunt Sarah Abbott’s (Sarah Elizabeth Sperry).
