1896 (Monday) – In the evening I went up town. Stopped at Grandpa Sperry’s (Charles Sperry) and he unhitched and put away the horse for me. I went up to Burton’s, Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and Mrs. Burton were getting ready to go to the Theater. After they had gone I practiced on the piano for a while. Annie and Carrie Sorenson came over to bring invitations to Esther, Mrs. Burton and I to the Leap Year Dance. They stayed a while then left. About eight o’clock Oscar Lunt (Alfred Oscar Lunt) came up, we stayed until the folks returned from the theater. I slept to Burton’s.
