1897 – About noon Mother (Caroline Webb) and I went to town. We stopped at Grandmother Sperry’s (Emily Louisa Miller). I went up to Burton’s then returned to Grandmothers and Esther (Emily Esther Sperry), Aunt Mollie (Marion Olive Sperry) and I went down town. First to the Excelsor and then over to Hyde’s store, then to the post office. Aunt Mollie sent me over to the drugstore for her (of course I didn’t seek the chance). Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was in there and waited on me and I waited for him to fill the prescription for me. From there I went back to Grandma Sperry’s and up to Burton’s. Later I went down to T.L. Foote’s for a lesson in shorthand. I slept up to Burton’s.
