Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1897 (Monday) – In the afternoon, I walked up town along the railroad track. I called in the home of Meg Buckholt. From there I went up to Burton’s. As I was passing Kendall’s, I spoke to Brother Kendall, Della (Adella Kendall) saw me and came out and we stood talking a while. When I reached Burton’s I found Mr. (Enoch Burton) and Mrs. Burton (Frances Haddy Betenson) had gone to Salt Lake that morning.

Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I went down town over to Foote’s and then to Hyde’s Store. We called in the post office and then over to the Excelsior, which we found was closed. I went down to T. L. Foote’s and took a short hand lesson. I received a letter from Bessie Sperry. I slept at Burton’s.
