1897 (Thursday) – In the afternoon I went up town with Father (Charles Henry Sperry) and Melvin (Henry Melvin Sperry). I went up to Burton’s and then down to the Court House to practice on the typewriter but Mr. Foote had left. I met Mrs. Burton (Frances Haddy Betenson) and we went to Miss Morgan’s (Mary Morgan) then up to her house where Father called for me and we went down home.
