1897 (Thursday) – Before breakfast I went over to Miller’s to see Will. After breakfast I went down to the court house and practiced on the typewriter for a while. I came back at noon and then went down again in the afternoon. After coming back to Grandmother’s (Emily Louisa Miller), I wrote a letter to Bessie Sperry. I went down town and posted it. I had supper over to Aunt Emily Black’s (Mary Emily Sperry) and in the evening was over there to a rag bee. About nine o’clock I went outside and met Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) and talked to him for a few minutes. He asked me to go to the dance tomorrow night. I went back into the house and stayed until midnight when Grandma Sperry and I went home to her house. Grandpa Webb (David Webb) was buried today. We scarcely knew Grandfather Webb as he very seldom ever came in our home.
