1902 (Thursday) – I have not been able to write for some time so will try to remember when I can. Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt Jr) has been feeling quite miserable since I last wrote but is feeling better now. On Friday 7th I took the children up to Mother’s (Caroline Webb) and stayed until Friday the tenth. On Saturday I weighed Lillian (Lillian Lunt) she was 18 lbs. On Sunday I went to meeting and left babies at their Grandma’s, they were both very good. Alfred is such a thoughtful little fellow. I hope he will always be that way. At night after he’s undressed he always picks up his clothes and puts them away. One day he left the hammer in the middle of the room and I stepped on it, it hurt my foot, he jumped up and came and put it away without me telling him to. On the 12th I took them up to spend the day at their Grandma Lunt’s (Priscilla Pitt). In the evening their Aunt Della (Emma Della Sperry) took care of them while I went to a theater. On Sunday 16th I took the children up to their Grandma Sperry’s (Emily Louisa Miller) they took care of Alfred and I took the baby to meeting, she began to cry and I couldn’t pacify her so I had to take her home. On the 18th we received the first letter from their father (Alfred Oscar Lunt) since he last went out to the herd. Today I took Alfred up town, he walked until he became very tired, I asked Foote’s delivery boy Sam Warr to let him ride with him.
