1904 (Sunday) – I took Alfred (Alfred Oscar Lunt, Jr.) and Lillian (Lillian Lunt) to Sunday School. I had to give part of the lesson. We had a very large class. In the afternoon I took Baby (Charles Gilbert Lunt) to meeting. He was very good. Brother Henry Nesbit spoke very fine, he felt he would never see Nephi again in the flesh and it was like a farewell speech, he is 77 years old, he said our motto should be “Attempt great things, expect great things.” Brother Smith also assists and church historian Jensen spoke. Brother Smith spoke of the mother’s in Israel what an influence they have over their children. Said if his had done nothing else he would praise and honor her for keeping him off the street corners knowing where he was at bedtime. He thought it was dreadful at the time, but thankful now she did.
There was a meeting at night, but I stayed home with the children.
