1904 (Monday) – Our little Bert’s (Charles Gilbert Lunt) first birthday. I took him with me to take my washing down to Ostler’s, On the way back I called in Denn’s Jewelry Store and bought him a little silver cup. Sister McCune’s (Elizabeth Temperance Grace) boys, Ross (Ross Hamilton McCune) and Clarence (Clarence Scott McCune), came and put up my stove for us. While I was gone in town Jen (Jennie Teasdale) stayed with the other children (Alfred Oscar, Jr. and Lillian Lunt). I called at Grandma Lunt’s (Priscilla Pitt), she had gone to Salt Lake to meet Edgar (John Edgar Lunt) and they told me they were coming home tonight. So Jen and I put the children to bed and went down to the train to see them. I think that is the first time I ever did such a thing, but they were all right. Jen slept with me.
