1905 (Tuesday) – I took the children (Alfred Oscar, Jr., Lillian and Charles Gilbert Lunt) up to Grandma Lunt’s (Priscilla Pitt) for the day. Edgar (John Edgar Lunt) took them up on a horse while I walked. I first called on Mrs. Orme’s, but she was not at home. Aunt Lizzie Batchelor (Elizabeth Lunt) was at Grandma’s Lunt’s and she introduced me to the wife (Charlotte Mae Mattice) of her nephew, Parley Lunt from Mexico. We had dinner at Grandma Lunt’s. About two o’clock Jen Lunt (Lydia Jane Kendall) and I went up to call Emma Huggins on the telephone, she wasn’t home and it would be five o’clock before she would be back and we fooled around town all afternoon, as we had to use the public phone to get her. It was a long and tiresome time. I wanted her to come and work for me. After getting in touch with her, she could give me no answer as she was going home and said she would write to me later. After supper we came down home.
