1906* (Saturday) – Pearl (Eva Pearl Sperry) stayed while I went to Relief Conference. I wish I could remember all I heard there. Brother Hickman of The B.Y.U. lectured to us on child life. He said many parents made liars out of their own children by being too harsh with them, they for fear of punishment would lie to the parent to defend themselves. In the evening Pearl and Ruth (Ruth Sperry) slept here. I was going to a Relief Dance but it was so stormy and Mrs. Wood not feeling very I went up there to spend the evening instead. Today Mother (Caroline Webb) and her three girls (Lillian May, Eva and Ruth Sperry) have all been up to spend the day. I am alone tonight with my children (Alfred Oscar, Jr., Lillian, Charles Gilbert and Eva Ruth Lunt).
