MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENCY:
Greetings to all! How time does fly. It hardly seems any time at all since we sent out the last paper and here we only have to look at the calendar to think of some of the things that have happened in the past three months. We know that time waits for no one, and we can either get on the wagon and ride or into the harness and pull, or stand by the road side and watch the crowds go by and many of our own friends, we can see and help today.
For many of us those opportunities may never be ours again. Life is so very short, but really earnest, and death is not the goal. All through life we are preparing ourselves for the times ahead. We learn to walk and talk. We got to school to get an education, to be able to take our place in life, to earn our way and to be happy. That we might have joy in the services we can do or the amount of good we can do.
Let us evaluate joy for a moment. As we stow away keepsakes in the Treasure Chest of Life, do not burden yourselves with a load of fears, hates and worries. Instead select, wisely, little precious treasures and magic memories that will bring you joy and brighten your peaceful hours when the shadows lengthen; such as, lovely experiences and gladen deeds to bring you comfort and spiritual blessings that will fortify you against all fear.
When you evaluate the contents of your chest you don’t want to find a clutter of broken promises, unfinished tasks, shattered plans and last dreams. So charter well your time – know to what port you are bound.
May we always apply those thoughts to the work we are doing in this Family Society, and I’m sure our Treasure Chest, will be overflowing.
