July 7, 1946 (Sunday) – Della (Emma Della Sperry) and I went to Sunday School. We visited the Genealogical class. The subject discussed was about Danish records. A Sister Poulson gave the lesson, told how hard it is to figure out the different generations as the surname of the son and daughter was the given name of the father, for example: Hans Larsen’s son would be Andre Hanson, etc. Said records were sometimes kept by symbols, etc.
After Sunday School, we remained for Fast Meeting and then I walked over to Esther’s (Emily Esther Sperry) to see Maurine (Jane Maurine Snell), who was visiting her for the day.
The evening services of both Salt Lake and Riverside Stakes were held on the Capitol steps. I did not attend.
