1947 (Monday) – Carl (Carl Hatch Hunter) took me up to the Genealogical Society to get the contents of my locker as we all have to give them up to make way for improvements there. They then took me over to the bank. I walked down home calling in the market for groceries. I was so heavily loaded coming home I had to rest twice and I felt so sick I didn’t know if I could make it.
In the afternoon, Carl took me up to the doctor’s office, he seemed to think I was getting along pretty good, blood pressure coming down, heart a bit off beat, etc.
In the evening Carl, Dorothy (Dorothy Snader) and I played the basketball game, but before going to bed, I became quite ill. It seemed just like flu. When I got up this morning, I found the water jacket was leaking, sent for a plumber. He came down, told us what was wrong, but failed to come back again.
