1947 (Saturday) – In the afternoon Sister Erekson came in and I made my teaching visit with her discussing the subject. In the evening Lillian (Lillian Lunt), Sister Erekson and I went down to the Amusement Hall to a picture show. First were pictures of scenic Utah, all through our beautiful canyons and towns, etc., then a film of the Centennial trek over the trail taken by the pioneers, which was very interesting, a monument was shown in honor of the dead at Mt. Pisgay, my great-grandmother, Mary Lamont Sperry, was buried there, another large monument was shown at Winter Quarters. I believe called Florence now, my great-grandfather, Joy Sperry and son Aaron (Aaron George Sperry) (Mary’s husband and son) were buried there.
Afterwards, there was a picture of Mexican people with their bright colors and lovely dancing. Altogether, it was quite a pleasant evening.
