1897 (Wednesday) – Towards evening Melvin (Henry Melvin Sperry), Rettie (Retta Sperry) and Della (Emma Della Sperry) and myself went up town. I went to Foote’s and took my shorthand lesson. I went up to Burton’s and stayed until the children came up for me then we all went out home.
