Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1897 – I went up town. Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) and I went down to the store and then over to the court house. Mr. Foote was not there but he came so I did some typewriting. Esther left before I got through. I had walked as far as the tracks when Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) caught up with me he walked a few blocks with me and then we stood talking a while. I went on up to Burton’s. In the evening, Esther went to choir practice and I went down to Foote’s for a shorthand lesson, Oscar had promised to meet me and walk up home with me, but it was so dark, I missed him and had to go home alone. I slept up to Burton’s.
