1908 (Sunday) – On December 18th my sister Della (Emma Della Sperry) was married to Fred McLaughlin. They left on the afternoon train for Salt Lake. Grandpa Sperry (Charles Sperry) performed the ceremony. Karl (Karl Farnsworth) and Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) returned from Beaver about the 12th and stayed with Mother (Caroline Webb) until after Christmas. Retta (Retta Sperry) came home for the holidays and brother Melvin (Henry Melvin Sperry) came home and is in town now. My husband (Alfred Oscar Lunt) was home for a few days, he came Christmas Eve and left Friday afternoon. We all enjoyed Christmas, especially the children (Alfred Oscar, Jr., Lillian, Charles Gilbert and Eva Ruth Lunt). They said it was the best Christmas they ever had. We had dinner over to Grandma Lunt’s (Priscilla Pitt).
On the 13th of January, Clara Golden came to live with us. Today is fast day. Clara stayed with the children while I went to meeting. I took Alfred and Lillian with me. Alfred was eight years old on the 10th of January and today was baptized. Brother John Belliston officiated and Bishop Pettigrew confirmed him a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Pearl (Eva Pearl Sperry) helped me to dress and care for him. I only hope I will be able to care and teach him in the way of truth and right and that he will grow up with a desire in his heart to serve God and keep His commandments.
