Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1947 (Tuesday) – I ironed, worked in the garden and went to Teacher’s Report Meeting and then Relief Meeting. Instead of buying flowers for the mothers, the officers had a lady come and give us a Book Review, something about When the Bell Rings. I have never heard a book review given in such a splendid way as it was given to us. I just sat thrilled all during the reading, she never opened her book until the last page for just a look at a description. She was an invalid and sat in a wheelchair, but she looked beautiful. I’m so glad I was there.

I’m so tired this evening, I want to go to bed early.
