Journal: Jeanette Sperry

1897 (Monday) – About sundown, I walked up town, there I met Zoa Garrett who told me Aunt Mollie Wheeler (Marion Olive Sperry) was in town that her baby was dead and had been buried that day. I went up to Burton’s, Esther (Emily Esther Sperry) Mrs. Burton and I went over to the class, we were too early so took a walk. We met Mr. Burton and he told us to go in the drugstore and get some gum. We purchased the gum and Oscar (Alfred Oscar Lunt) gave me some “Frog in your throat 10 cts” for my cold. We went on up to the class where Esther sang a song, after class we went home to Burton’s. Later, Mr. Burton brought Oscar Lunt up home with him. He stayed a short time and left. I slept up to Burton’s.
