1947 (Sunday) – We had a splendid program this morning at Sunday School. It was a Mother’s Day program. They gave the mothers a little book of splendid verses. Fast Meeting was held immediately after. There were no babies to be blessed and only a few children. Many testimonies were born, mostly by those who now belong to the 17th (North). The Bishop had to wait, while standing to bring the meeting to a close, while at least two asked to say a few words. A lovely spirit was present.
When I returned home, a few minutes later, Port’s (Porty Lewis Gabbitas) family came in. Della (Della Lunt) carrying a lovely cake plate with a pretty cover, for a gift for me. It’s something I’ve wanted for years.
There was no evening meeting, so I remained at home.
